About this collection

From barrel-fermented Sauvignon Blanc, Viognier and Chardonnay to finely crafted méthode-style sparkling wines, each bottle has been chosen to showcase texture, time, vineyard detail and the quiet confidence of wines made beyond the everyday. This collection also carries respected award and critic credentials, adding another layer of reassurance for those discovering this more collectible side of our Marisco Vineyards. 

Rooted in the stony terraces of the Waihopai River Vineyard to the historic Leefield Station property, each bottle reflects Marisco’s deep connection to Marlborough and its belief that exceptional sites reveal themselves over time. The Craft Series speaks to this spirit of artisan discovery: small-parcel wines shaped through barrel fermentation, lees ageing, texture and time. Pride & Glory Sauvignon Blanc 2016 offers charred grapefruit, struck match, ripe citrus and warm oak spice; The Exemplar Viognier 2016 brings tangerine, apricot, honeysuckle and a rich, creamy finish; The Pioneer Chardonnay 2018 layers ripe white peach, toasted almond, French oak spice and savoury length, carrying with it a Gold from The Global Chardonnay Masters 2022 and 93 points from Master Sommelier Cameron Douglas.

Alongside them sit two Diamond Heart sparkling wines, crafted with precision, elegance and a touch of Marisco glamour. Diamond Heart Waihopai Cuvée 2018 blends Chardonnay and Pinot Noir for notes of freshly baked bread, green apple, perfumed complexity and beautifully crisp acidity, while Diamond Heart Blanc de Blancs 2019, made from 100% Chardonnay, delivers crushed Braeburn apple, brioche, toasted almond, fine persistent bubbles and a long, fresh finish.

The Diamond Heart wines bring serious sparkling credentials to the collection. Diamond Heart Waihopai Cuvée was awarded the MCC Label Trophy for Champion Sparkling at the National Wine Awards of Aotearoa New Zealand 2023, alongside 93 points from The Real Review’s Bob Campbell, who notes its citrus, green apple, toast, ginger and brioche flavours. Diamond Heart Blanc de Blancs has also earned four Gold medals across the Glass of Bubbly Awards 2025, Marlborough Wine Show 2023, Mundus Vini Spring Tasting 2024 and Decanter World Wine Awards 2024.
