Leefield Station Angus Records Successful 2026 Bull Sale

Leefield Station Angus has celebrated another successful annual on-farm bull sale, with all 17 bulls offered finding new homes and strong support shown from both returning and first-time buyers.

The sale achieved a top price of $12,000 and an average of $8,823, with the majority of the bulls remaining in Marlborough and four heading to commercial farming operations in the North Island.

For Marisco Vineyards owner Brent Marris, the result reflects the continued confidence farmers have in the Leefield Station breeding programme and its focus on producing practical, commercially relevant Angus genetics.

This year's sale also represented an important transition for the station. The draft was the culmination of years of breeding and preparation led by former Farm Manager Greg Crombie, before being presented and sold under the guidance of new Farm Manager Tim Salter. Together, they represent the continuity and shared commitment that continues to strengthen the Leefield Angus programme.

The annual sale once again brought farmers, agents and supporters together at Leefield Station, with the event concluding in true station style over a barbecue featuring Leefield Station produce and wines from our Leefield Station Vineyard.

Marisco Vineyards extends its sincere thanks to everyone who attended, particularly the successful purchasers, underbidders and agents whose participation helped make the day a success.

Congratulations to all buyers, and thank you for your continued support of the Leefield Station Angus programme.
